Meet Our Staff

Tom Walker, Pastor

Our pastor, Tom Walker, came to Hebron in December of 2005. "We fell in love with the people and the area the very first time we visited," Pastor Tom said. "We are thankful that God has called us to Hebron Baptist Church. We have been here ten years and we love it more than we did when we first came. We look forward to a long relationship with God's family here."

Pastor Tom and his wife have been married for 22 years and have three children. "Cindy is a true ministry partner. She keeps me focused and is a great encouragement to me. She is gifted as a teacher and as a counselor. She is involved in all areas of the church's ministry and currently serves as our Student Minister. Cindy is very active in the WMU of Virginia. I am blessed to have her by my side as we seek to do God's will."

“I am truly excited by the way I have seen God work through his people here. There is a spirit of fellowship that can only be the work of God. There is a heart for missions that can only come from a Godly compassion. There is a love that exists that can only be inherited from our Father, God. I hope you will come out and meet the people who are Hebron Baptist Church.”

Pastor Tom is a graduate of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC. He has a Bachelors degree in Biblical Studies. He feels his spiritual gifts are preaching and teaching. "I love to preach God's word in a way that people can understand what it means and how it applies to them. The goal of my preaching is to preach "real truth for real life". Wednesday Night Bible Study is one of the most enjoyable parts of ministry. It gives me the opportunity to teach in an interactive setting," the pastor says.

Pastor Tom describes his ministry objective as "to equip God's people to live victoriously in this world through a deeper relationship with their Creator and Lord and to wait with anticipation for the return of Jesus Christ."

Cindy Walker, Student Minister

Cindy Walker has served Hebron Baptist as our Student Minister since 2012. Cindy has been active in working with the children and youth here at Hebron since she and Pastor Tom came to Hebron in 2005. Cindy has been involved in children and youth ministry for over 20 years. We are blessed to have her serving in this role at Hebron. Our Children's ministry is growing and the children are learning about a relationship with God. Cindy's goal with the children is to insure that they have an accurate view of who God is and that they come to an understanding of how very much He loves them. Cindy's youth ministry is filled with Bible teaching, mission work, and day trips that are coupled with Bible studies. Youth, in grades 6 through 12, are a growing part of Hebron Baptist Church.

Cindy says, "My goal is to help the children and youth of Hebron Baptist to understand who God truly is and what it means to have a personal relationship with Him. Student ministry is about more than making sure church is "fun" for our children. It is about helping them grow in relationship with Him and helping them understand what it means to be a biblical church member."
